Errol Winston Berkeley also known as “Scudder” Featured

Errol Winston Berkeley also known as “Scudder”, passed away peacefully at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, on Sunday, May 15, 2016. 

 

He was born to Maude “Auntie” Paul Berkeley and Lloyd Berkeley on September 7, 1940 in St. George's, Grenada. 

 

He is survived by many family and friends including his life partner:, Dr. Lynette Berkeley, his children: Dr. Abiona Berkeley, Dalero Berkeley and Dr. Malaika Berkeley,, His grandchildren: Wilhelmina, Lena, Ty, Ojere and Olivia.

 

His siblings: Louse, Sybil, Pansy, Eileen, Avis, Norma and Lennox and their children and grandchildren.

 

Errol Berkeley was a graduate of Grenada Boys' Secondary School in St. George’s, Grenada where he excelled in soccer and received a scholarship to study in the US.  He went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, at the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, Wisconsin and a Masters’ degree in the same from Oregon State University, in Corvallis, Oregon. 

 

He was passionate about economic and cultural growth of the Caribbean islands.  Mr. Berkeley worked in Guyana with the Ministry of Agriculture, Barbados at the Caribbean Development Bank and then in Barbados and the Bahamas at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture.

 

Our hearts are heavy in his absence even as we are grateful for the time that we have had

Thanks those of you who were able to attend the memorial service for our father on June 10th. The family has decided to let that service stand and to cancel the service previously scheduled for July 23rd.
