John Harold Charles of Tempe, St. George who resided in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Tuesday 21st March, 2017 at the age of 66.
Left to mourn his wife: Venus Charles, 5 children: Tieka Easton, John Charles Jr, Lloyd Charles, Mariella Charles, and Sheana Charles, 4 grandchildren: Malika Easton, Kaiden Easton, Faith Easton, and Sian King. His brothers: Keith, Derrick, and Joseph; Sisters: Avis, Annette, Hillary, Alison, and Louise.
His story begins in St Tempe, St Georges Grenada. His parents are Catherine Andrews and Lloyd Charles. He was the eldest sibling of his eight brothers and sisters. John loved to play soccer, cricket, table tennis, dominoes, and card games.
At the age of 21, he left Grenada to work on a ship called Cunard, there is where he learned to refine his culinary skills in cooking and baking, which became is favorite hobby, and he picked up other talents along the way. As the years gone by working on the ship, he decided to settle in the United States, and look for a career.
John Harold Charles took a job position as a security officer in Lower Manhattan on the east side at Cabrini Hospital. His whole life started when he met Venus Maryann Felix, who became his wife, and he got his promotion as Lieutenant/ Fire Safety Director. He spent over 30 years working at Cabrini Hospital and was loved by everyone.
Eventually Cabrini Hospital closed down; it seems that building didn’t want to be separated from him and the new owners of the building ended working with him. Ray Builders, Pizzarotti IBC worked hand in hand, and enjoy working with him.
January 2016, John decides to take new journey by becoming a member of New Life Church of God to do god’s work. He always had a calling of using his voice and which his dream came true of being a part of the choir.
John H Charles will be truly missed by a worldwide of family and friends. He was a definition of a great man
