Rupert Alexander Glean, passed away on Thursday, April 2nd, 2020 at the age of age 89.
Rupert was born in St. George’s, Grenada in 1930, where through the years he found his love of fixing cars, the arts, and participating in Individual Mass each year for Carnival. His notable portrayals included President Abraham Lincoln, Prince Phillip, Sir Walter Raleigh, T. A. Marryshow, Napoleon Bonaparte, Genghis Khan, and Eric Gairy, just to name a few.
Upon his arrival in Toronto, ON, Canada, he married his beloved Marcelle (Gibbs) and became loving father to daughter Michelle and son Robert and then years later, father-in-law to Kimberly and grandfather “Papa” to Oliver and Kendric.
He was a skilled auto body man, loved attending and serving as usher at Mass (St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Scarborough, ON Canada), loved game nights with his family at his good friends, Albert and Marilyn Joseph and their family and always made friends wherever he went.
The last six years of his life were spent at a beautiful long term care home, as he had long suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, complicated by several strokes. He loved life and along with his infectious smile, he brought laughter to everyone.
Left to mourn His Sister Maureen in the USA, many other relatives and friends in Grenada, Trinidad, Canada, USA and other parts of the world
May God’s perpetual light shine upon Rupert, and may his soul eternally rest in peace.
Funeral service and burial on Saturday, April 4th, 2020.
